there was a crooked man ... Below London is a place you never imagined. A different world, a different reality, a place that is there but unseeable and untouchable. Where wars are fought, lost, and won while your insignificant little life goes on obliviously. This is a place where the demons of your dreams run rampant and once you go into it, your life is never the same.
it is winter! The time when the snow starts to fall. A warm overcoat and thick clothing are needed if you want to go outside without getting hypothermia. It's about 15 - 20 degrees Fahrenheit outside, so don't expect a tanning session for awhile.

THE CITY AND DOCKLANDS, The City, or the Square Mile, is where London began. The financial and business heart of the UK has now spilled over into the neighboring Docklands area. A fascinating blend of old and new with historic St. Paul's Cathedral presiding over hundreds of modern buildings.

NORTH LONDON, North London includes suburbs such as Hampstead and Highgate which retain a village atmosphere. North London is more hilly than the south, and many of the hills give excellent views across the city. Large parks include Hampstead Heath, which includes Parliament Hill, noted for its fine views over the city, and the Hampstead bathing ponds; and Alexandra Park, site of Alexandra Palace.

ORME PASSAGE W1, No wonder he hadn't noticed it before: it was scarcely more than a narrow alleyway between houses, lit by a sputtering gasjet.
One of the many passages to London Below will reveal itself to you once you turn three times around.

BRITISH MUSEUM STATION, He could accept "Mind the Gap" and the Earl's Court, and even the strange library. But damn it, like all Londoners, he knew his Tube map, and this was going too far. "There isn't a British Museum Station," said Richard, firmly.
"There isn't?" boomed the earl. "Then, mm, then you must be very careful as you get off the train."
The British Museum station was closed down long ago. However, it is still in active use by the Underside.
